Angowa Elfayous is a South Sudanese designer born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She started to build her clothing line in Spring of 2022 in her junior year of high school. She came from a family of big dreams with the strength to chase them through whatever challenges were thrown. When she was as young as 7 years old she went from wanting to be the best soccer player in the world and waking up every day at 6am to train in her backyard to wanting to engineer planes with the Air Force until her research was done. Then there was quarantine and that was an insanely hard time for her, not being able to hang out with friends and not really being able to go anywhere but the park, so she picked up skating. But with these really big dreams she found herself devoted to, something she always enjoyed along with it was her fashion. Her dreams would constantly get shut down by teachers, family, and friends and with people constantly trying to take from who she was and wanted to be, she realized the only thing that couldn’t be taken away from her was her fashion. Her character, her morals, and her beliefs would be shown through her style and people always knew that about her. She always had a skate style growing up and that’s what she felt most confident in and it gave her the ability to see her dreams clearly. That is what Elfayous is. A clothing line for the people who like to listen to jazz rap, go to the beach, skate, smoke, have the most confidence, have big dreams, are pure, never let people tell them anything, are ambitious and passionate, and have risen from even the darkest moments. Elfayous is for the leaders of tomorrow.
